Contract covers over 300MW of Spanish solar
RES has signed its first operation and maintenance contract with Matrix Renewables.
The company said the deal spans more than 300MW of photovoltaic capacity across Jaén, Huelva, Seville, Badajoz and Valladolid.
RES said this strengthens its presence in Andalusia and Extremadura and consolidates its position in Castile and Leon.
Matrix Renewables operates in Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Chile and the United States and manages the full life cycle of its assets, according to RES.
The company said this customer profile requires global partners offering technical excellence, reliability and advanced predictive maintenance strategies and digital solutions.
Manuel Sanchez-Merenciano, global head of solar/storage/green H2O&M services, said: “This agreement reflects the trust that major IPPs place in our ability to optimise the performance and availability of large, diverse solar portfolios.”
He said: “Matrix Renewables sets a high bar for operational quality, and we are pleased to bring our global experience and digital capabilities to support their assets across Spain.”
RES said the agreement follows the announcement that it remains in second place worldwide in solar O&M in the latest Wood Mackenzie ranking.
The company said this reinforces its ability to offer quality service under high safety standards and technical levels for global customers such as Matrix Renewables.
RES said it manages 21.9GW of maintained solar globally, including 8.5GW in Spain, 13GW in EMEA and 3GW in the United States, and is the leading ISP in Chile with 2.3GW.
The company said the contract is a significant step in its growth and diversification strategy and strengthens its role as a partner of choice for major IPPs.
RES added that the agreement boosts its position in technically demanding solar operation and maintenance and within the Spanish photovoltaic market.
