Former Bluefloat-Nadara UK managing director joins law firm’s energy team
CMS has appointed Susie Lind as an Edinburgh-based partner within the law firm’s energy and infrastructure team.
Lind was most recently managing director of Bluefloat Energy and Nadara’s UK floating wind partnership and was also vice-chair of the Offshore Wind Industry Council until her departure earlier this year.
Prior to that she had a 12-year spell at EDF where she held senior roles including Legal Affairs Director and then Nuclear Decommissioning Director.
CMS said Lind will provide strategic and legal support to renewable energy clients across the globe on organisational and project development, construction, operations and decommissioning, with particular focus on offshore wind.
She will continue to serve as a non-executive director at RenewableUK and Scottish Renewables.
Lind will be joined at CMS in January by ex-Bluefloat Energy-Nadara UK head of legal Chris Martin, who has been appointed as an Of Counsel in the energy and infrastructure team.
“We are delighted to welcome Susie, a globally-renowned leader within the renewable energy sector with more than 20 year’s experience,” said CMS managing director (Scotland) Allan Wernham.
“Her appointment, along with her highly-regarded former colleague Chris Martin, will further strengthen our leading position in offshore wind and energy projects.”
Susie Lind added: “I’m thrilled to be joining CMS’s talented and industry-leading energy team. Along with the immense global opportunities for the sector, Scotland has become a world leader in the deployment of renewables and has one of the largest pipelines for future development, particularly for deepwater including floating offshore wind.”
