Six wind farms award five-year IRM contract
Six Dutch offshore wind farms have awarded a five-year maintenance contract to FON Energy Services.
The company won a combined tender from Borssele 3&4, Borssele 5, Eneco Luchterduinen, Hollandse Kust Noord, Hollandse Kust West VI and Prinses Amaliawindpark, which together have 303 turbines, according to the companies.
FON Energy Services will deliver above-water Balance of Plant inspection, repair and maintenance services and below-water ROV surveys from 2026, with some work starting later when operations begin or existing commitments end.
The company will deploy innovative technologies and advanced methodologies to optimise performance, enhance safety and minimise downtime, it said.
Eneco, acting as operator, said the single tender enabled the owners to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the portfolio by leveraging economies of scale.
“The innovative mindset and proven track record of FON Energy Services align perfectly with our shared dedication to the transition to sustainable energy,” head of operations at Eneco Remco Streppel said.
“Bringing the contracts for these assets under one umbrella will allow us to reduce complexity, improve planning, and maximize operational synergies,” Streppel said.
“We are grateful for the trust the owners of these wind farms have placed in us,” FON Energy Services chief executive officer Sindre Rhrich said.
“With our pragmatic, get-it-done’ approach and focus on innovation, we are confident in our ability to deliver exceptional results and contribute to the success of these landmark projects,” Rhrich said.
